Tyrell Shavers

Buffalo Bills

Tyrell Shavers (2017 Grad) played for Alabama and finished his college career at San Diego State. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Buffalo Bills in 2023. After spending time on the practice squad and making his NFL debut in 2024, he scored a 69-yard touchdown on his first career catch and earned a spot on the Bills’ 53-man roster in 2025. He has been a key contributor for the Bills in both offense and special teams ever since.

Damien Martinez

Seattle Seahawks / Green Bay Packers

Damien Martinez (2022 Grad) attended Oregon State where he earned back-to-back All-Pac-12 First Team honors. In 2024 he attended the University of Miami, where he rushed for over 1,000 yards. Damien was drafted in the 7th Round of the NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. He was picked up by the Green Bay Packers in 2025 and is signed to a futures contract with the team.

August Mangin

San Francisco 49ers / Detroit Lions

August Mangin (2005 Grad) spent five years (2005-09) at LSU as a walk-on fullback where he won a National Championship with the Tigers. After receiving his diploma, he started his coaching career with Northwestern State, Alabama, and LSU. August made the jump to the NFL in 2021 where he worked as the special teams quality control/game management specialist for the 49ers. In 2025 he was hired by the Detroit Lions as a Defensive Assistant Coach.

Trinity Benson

Denver Broncos / Detroit Lions / Cleveland Browns

Trinity Benson (2015 Grad) attended East Central University after high school. He rushed for 324 yards and five touchdowns with 507 yards and four touchdowns on 45 receptions as a senior and was named first-team All-Great American Conference. Trinity signed with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He has spent time with the Broncos, Lions, and Browns in his career. In 2021 and 2022 Trinity played in 9 games for the Lions.

Walt Garrison

Dallas Cowboys

Walt Garrison (1962 Grad) starred at Oklahoma State where he excelled as a versatile back and earned All-American honors. He was drafted in 1966 by the Dallas Cowboys and quickly became known for his toughness and reliability. Garrison played his entire nine-year career with Dallas in the National Football League, contributing as a fullback, special teams standout, and blocker. He helped the Cowboys win Super Bowl VI and remains a fan favorite for his grit and team-first mentality. Walt Garrison passed away in 2023.

Teddy Garcia

New England Patriots / Minnesota Vikings / Houston Oilers

Teddy Garcia (1988 Grad) starred at Northeast Louisiana University (now the University of Louisiana at Monroe), where he became the school’s all-time scoring leader and helped his team win the 1987 Division I-AA national championship. Garcia was selected by the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 1988 NFL Draft and went on to kick for the Patriots, Minnesota Vikings, and Houston Oilers. Known for his accuracy and leg strength, he had a journeyman career across several professional football circuits.
